About the blog

Here I will write about my progress (or most likely lack there of) when it comes to scale modelling.

Not all things go as planed...

Received my C-wing conversion for the Tamiya kit today, and what a disappointment. Bad casting, wrong canons... So, now I ordered Airwaves kit that I have used before and are satisfied with...

As the topic states, even more Spitfires on the way. Got word during the week that my conversion wings for the Tamiya kit was on it's way, so the basic kit was also ordered, along with a sheet of decals for RAAF aircrafts...

And speeking of RAAF, Hasegawa just released a limited edition kit of their Mk VIII with new decals, so I had to get that as well...

Plus while it was at it I stumbled over Tamiyas Mk.I kit as well...

But you know what they say, you can't have to many Spitfires...

You can't have to many Spitfires...

Ok, planning to do a lot of Spitfires... Already have Tamiya's 1/32 Mk.VIII and their Vb. Also have Hasegawa's 1/48 Mk.VIII as well as Airfix's new Pr Mk.XIX.

And that are the ones I already have... Have Eduards upcoming Mk.IX on pre-order, plus that I have ordered a conversion kit to make a Vc out of Tamiyas Vb, so have to get me one more of those...

But have a couple of other projects to land before I embark on my Spitfire journey...

Time to get going...

JackalPosted by Thomas Mon, February 25, 2013 18:45:25
Latest project will be Airfixs 1/48 Jackal. Not really my scale when it comes to vehicles, but considering that the only option in 1/35 is a very expensive resin kit this seams like a good option...

So many ideas...

In my head...Posted by Thomas Fri, July 27, 2012 04:34:20

That I would like to build, but so little time (and no money...) But anyhow here comes a little rundown of what I would like to do:

1: British SAS jeep in North Africa during world war II. Legend makes a wonderful conversion kit to make not one, but two different jeeps

2: Have been eying Trumpeters ASLAV kit for some time, but never gotten around to buying it. Have a soft spot for anything Australian.

3: Hobbyboss new CV90C kit. It's Swedish, do I need to say more...

4: Doing the totaly crazy thing of doing either a M1114 or a M1151 using any of Legends conversions for Tamiyas Humvee. The crazy part being that both kits are now available from Bronco or Academy for way less then the Legend kits.

5: Making my very first diorama. A company called Evolution has released a kit with 6 resin figures (5 SF soldiers and one afghani local), that combined with my Meng pick-up and perhaps a converted ATV...

6: Satisfying my fetish for British WW2 armour, quite a few kits available now on the subject...

7: And this project isn't really stopped by money, rather then my sanity... I don't know how many modern US figures in 1/35 I have lying around waiting to be painted, but I still don't really feel up to painting that horrible ACU camo...

Well, I guess that's enough ranting for now...

Shame on me...

StrykerPosted by Thomas Mon, July 16, 2012 04:41:51

Haven't updates this for a while, not that there are much to tell... But last time I wrote I have difficultes with the instructions for my interior, and everything seamed dark... But then I got the instructions not just from the company that sold it to me but also from Black Dog.

But it didn't take me to long after that to notice that parts where broken and parts where missing. But with excellent help from Black Dog, replacement parts where shortly recived.

So I have started some minor work on the interior. Just really could use some more reference picturs but that's a later problem...

Something must be wrong...

In my head...Posted by Thomas Mon, July 16, 2012 04:37:39

because I actually feel like building something. But there seems to always be an excuse... Don't have the right color for that one, should I get a.m parts for that one....

But I guess I have to pull my self together sooner or later, or make my wife happy and sell everything...

But I'm hoping that the project to get my started is Meng's new Pick-up kit, will try to keep things simple. Build it staight from the box, no fuss about paint jobs and such. Just try to get back to the fun of modelling, which is what I seam to have lost somewhere along the road...

Shame on me...

In my head...Posted by Thomas Thu, April 12, 2012 03:46:36

Haven't gotten any modelling done in what feels like ages. Really would need to get my act together and strart doing something...

Not that I should make some excuses but have been having problems to where I could set up all my stuff. Family has grown which means less space available in the house. But now at least I have a decent set up and now I only await some inspiration...
