Away...In my head...

Not that I have been very active the last 10 year or so, but now I will be even more inactive, since I don't have any place to physically build any more.

But since I can't let go totally of the model building world who knows when the urge resurfaces again...

More Spitfires? Of course...Spitfire mania...

A couple of days ago there was the 70th anniversary of D-day. And to celebrate this, Eduard decided to give out a limited edition of their Spitfire IX with various d-day markings... And being the Spitfire nut I am, I had to get it. So, now it's on it's way in the mail... Looking forward to it... Just have to conquer my fear of doing invasion stripes...

Back to the roots...WRC

A long time ago (damn I feel old...) I was in a phase of just building rally cars. And now I'm hoping that somehow this might be the path back to modelling again. But as usuall, I can't just pick up a kit and build it and be happy...

What I'm planing to do is a series of Fords. One Ford Focus WRC from Simil'r with aftermarket decals to do a car driven by Henning Solberg. And then two Ford Fiesta WRC from Belkits, one in a black livery from rally France of 2011 and another black livery from Monte Carlo 2012. Also on order is a Ford Fiesta S2000 and this one is also going to be a car driven by Henning Solberg...

So far I have started som painting on the first Fiesta WRC. Though at a little standstill at the moment because I'm having some problem finding out weather the car should be painted gloss or matt black. But should continue with the interior as soon as the good weather goes away...

Look what the nice postman brought me today...Spitfire mania...

Bad Italeri...Spitfire mania...

Posted by Thomas Sat, June 15, 2013 04:18:51

In my quest for more Spitfires to add to the collection I found new about Italeri releasing a Spitfire Vc in 1/48 scale. Just having bought their excelent new Hurricane my hope was instantly raised, could there be a new long run injection moulded Spitfire Vc on the way out on the market...

Of course not! Instead it's a reboxing of Special Hobbys kit (limited run???)... So, shame on you Italeri for raising my hope!

A spin to the tale...Spitfire mania...

Have thought about a twist for my Spitfire mania. Are also a fan about RAAF, and had already planed to do some of my Spitfires in RAAF markings. But now I discovered a sheet of decals so I can do some RAAF Spitfires in RAF markings, so I will eventually have a whole bunch of Spitfires from 457 squadron. Just have to get another Tamiya Vb to pull it of... But as we all know by now, you can't have to many Spitfires...

Miss the good old days...In my head...

when you bought a brand new can of Humbrol paint, you gave it a good shake and a stir, and then painted, with good coverage, and a very forgiving paint and got a beautiful flat finish as a reward, but something has changed and now a day I have a hard time getting that good finish. Have been trying around with different paint brands, but so far nothing has been as good as my good old Humbrols...

Getting out of hand???Spitfire mania...

Started thinking that I would like to add a naval touch to the mix as well, so have started looking for a good Seafire kit. Choosing between a MkIb from Hasegawa or a MkII or MkIII from Special Hobby. All the kits have it's pros and cons so I have to think a little about it.

Also thinking about getting some aftermarket decals for my Tamiya MkI to turn it into a machine flown by RAAF squadron 457...
