About the blog

Here I will write about my progress (or most likely lack there of) when it comes to scale modelling.

Away...

Not that I have been very active the last 10 year or so, but now I will be even more inactive, since I don't have any place to physically build any more.

But since I can't let go totally of the model building world who knows when the urge resurfaces again...

Miss the good old days...

when you bought a brand new can of Humbrol paint, you gave it a good shake and a stir, and then painted, with good coverage, and a very forgiving paint and got a beautiful flat finish as a reward, but something has changed and now a day I have a hard time getting that good finish. Have been trying around with different paint brands, but so far nothing has been as good as my good old Humbrols...

So many ideas...

In my head...Posted by Thomas Fri, July 27, 2012 04:34:20

That I would like to build, but so little time (and no money...) But anyhow here comes a little rundown of what I would like to do:

1: British SAS jeep in North Africa during world war II. Legend makes a wonderful conversion kit to make not one, but two different jeeps

2: Have been eying Trumpeters ASLAV kit for some time, but never gotten around to buying it. Have a soft spot for anything Australian.

3: Hobbyboss new CV90C kit. It's Swedish, do I need to say more...

4: Doing the totaly crazy thing of doing either a M1114 or a M1151 using any of Legends conversions for Tamiyas Humvee. The crazy part being that both kits are now available from Bronco or Academy for way less then the Legend kits.

5: Making my very first diorama. A company called Evolution has released a kit with 6 resin figures (5 SF soldiers and one afghani local), that combined with my Meng pick-up and perhaps a converted ATV...

6: Satisfying my fetish for British WW2 armour, quite a few kits available now on the subject...

7: And this project isn't really stopped by money, rather then my sanity... I don't know how many modern US figures in 1/35 I have lying around waiting to be painted, but I still don't really feel up to painting that horrible ACU camo...

Well, I guess that's enough ranting for now...

Something must be wrong...

In my head...Posted by Thomas Mon, July 16, 2012 04:37:39

because I actually feel like building something. But there seems to always be an excuse... Don't have the right color for that one, should I get a.m parts for that one....

But I guess I have to pull my self together sooner or later, or make my wife happy and sell everything...

But I'm hoping that the project to get my started is Meng's new Pick-up kit, will try to keep things simple. Build it staight from the box, no fuss about paint jobs and such. Just try to get back to the fun of modelling, which is what I seam to have lost somewhere along the road...

Shame on me...

In my head...Posted by Thomas Thu, April 12, 2012 03:46:36

Haven't gotten any modelling done in what feels like ages. Really would need to get my act together and strart doing something...

Not that I should make some excuses but have been having problems to where I could set up all my stuff. Family has grown which means less space available in the house. But now at least I have a decent set up and now I only await some inspiration...

Playing around

In my head...Posted by Thomas Sun, June 19, 2011 08:35:43
Ok. I know I should be doing something sensible like modelling, bit right now I'm to busy playing with my new smart phone!

By the way got the M1151 in the mail yesterday and it looks like a nice little kit

Always some excuse...

In my head...Posted by Thomas Wed, June 15, 2011 23:34:27

Ok, now I finally got a place to build again. My daughter lost her play room, and instead it was turned into a playroom for the parents. But that doesn't mean that I actually get some work done. The weather has been beautiful, I have been working a lot, and I guess there are plenty of more excuses I could use....

Anyhow, at least the stash keep on growing. Have Academys new M1151 in the mail, and also waiting for some Italian ww2 tank from HLJ, don't remember the name of it right now, but it can be built as an Australian tank.

That's all for this time.

Spring at last.

In my head...Posted by Thomas Wed, April 27, 2011 04:11:02

Which means that I finally can start thinking about building something again. After neglecting the hobby for some time I'm starting to look forward to it again.

Have never been much of a figure builder before, but now I have quite a few resin figures laying around (and a few more in the mail...). Just have to conquer my fear of the new american camo pattern...

That's all for now, hopefully more to follow soon.
